I’m Harrison Gray, currently a trader on the DMA (Direct Market Access) trade desk at Wealthsimple—Canada’s leading online investment platform headquartered in Toronto. As of March 2025, Wealthsimple manages over $70 billion in assets and serves more than 3 million clients.
I lead options trading on our desk and play a key role in the equities space, contributing broadly to the growth and evolution of our self-directed investing business. My experience spans managing retail electronic order flow and executing trades in a low-touch DMA environment. I’m experienced in trading North American equities and options, ETF block trades, and broker algorithmic routing (algo wheels), with expertise in market microstructure and brokerage operations.
Beyond trading, I’ve been actively involved in building and enhancing Wealthsimple’s self-directed trading platform. This includes launching features like simple and complex options, fractional shares, and extended and overnight trading. I’ve also developed numerous internal dashboards and tools used to monitor system health and key performance metrics.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, writing, running, cycling, and camping—especially canoeing through Ontario’s vast wilderness. I’m passionate about conservation, geopolitics, and all things business.
